Privacy Policy
Effective and last updated:
CrackIt Cryptogram Word Puzzle is developed and
operated by Dheeraj Choudhury ("we", "us"). This
policy covers the Android game, its Google AdMob advertising and
this supporting website. Contact us at
dheeraj@mounts.in. The
Android package is com.letterlight.game.
The game is intended for people aged 16 and over. Core puzzles work offline without an account. Online advertising involves data processing by Google even though we request non-personalized ads. This notice does not replace any consent that must be obtained separately.
1. Information we handle and why
Local gameplay data: Puzzle progress, settings, achievements, streaks, virtual items, reward records and the time you last dismissed the Daily reminder are saved on your device so the game can resume and apply its rules. We do not upload the game-save database to a developer-operated server. The current release has no connected account, cloud-save or multiplayer service.
Advertising and consent data: When the game connects to Google advertising or consent services, Google processes technical information and privacy choices as explained below. No name or email registration is required to play.
Support correspondence: If you email us, we receive your email address, message and any information or attachments you choose to send. We use these to answer requests, investigate problems and handle privacy inquiries. Our email service provider processes correspondence to deliver and store it.
The game does not request access to your contacts, camera, microphone recordings or precise GPS location. Advertising services may infer an approximate location from your IP address.
2. Google AdMob advertising
The free game uses Google Mobile Ads (AdMob) for banners, interstitial ads between puzzles and optional rewarded ads for hints or revives. Google's advertising services may collect and share:
- IP address and connection information, including an approximate geographic area inferred from the IP address.
- Device and account-related identifiers, such as the Android advertising ID and app set ID, and other identifiers related to signed-in device accounts where applicable. Availability depends on device settings and Google's restrictions.
- App and advertising interactions, such as app launches, ad displays, taps and video views.
- Diagnostics, such as performance information, launch timing, freezes and energy use.
- Consent choices and related records used to apply advertising privacy preferences.
Google uses advertising data to deliver and measure ads, provide advertising analytics and detect abuse or fraud. Google and the advertising partners identified in its privacy information or an applicable consent message may receive data for those purposes. Ad content may use cookies, device identifiers or similar local-storage technologies.
We request non-personalized ads. This does not make ads anonymous or eliminate identifiers, storage, measurement or consent requirements. We do not ask you to click an ad or buy anything to earn an in-game reward.

3. Consent and advertising choices
The game uses Google's User Messaging Platform to obtain consent information before initializing its advertising service. Where required, it presents the regional privacy messages provided through that service. Ads are requested only when Google's consent status permits requests. Previously recorded choices may apply on a later visit.
Open Settings → Privacy → Ad privacy choices in the game to review available options, including changing or withdrawing consent where Google provides a privacy-options form. The form depends on your region and the applicable message; if no form is available, the game displays privacy information instead. An internet connection may be needed. Updated choices apply to later ad requests.
These controls are relevant to users in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, Switzerland and other regions with applicable privacy requirements. Declining consent can limit or prevent ads and video rewards. Core puzzles remain available offline.
Android also provides controls to reset or delete the advertising ID; their location varies by Android version. Those device controls do not replace an in-game consent choice, erase all previously processed advertising data or automatically exercise every privacy right. Google's linked privacy controls offer additional options.
4. Sharing and reasons for processing
The recipients described in this policy are Google and applicable advertising partners, our email provider when you contact us, and GitHub when you visit this website. We do not operate a business selling your contact details or local puzzle history. Advertising-related sharing still occurs as described above.
We may disclose information we hold when legally required, to respond to a valid legal request, or when reasonably necessary to protect users, investigate abuse or establish legal rights, subject to applicable law.
Where a lawful basis is required, we rely on consent for advertising storage or processing that requires consent, on our legitimate interests in answering requests and maintaining a reliable service where those interests are not overridden by your rights, and on legal obligations for required records. Google explains its own processing grounds in its privacy information.
5. Retention and deleting information
- Game progress: It remains on your device until replaced or removed. To reset it, open Settings and choose Erase this device's progress, then confirm. This resets gameplay progress; it does not promise to clear separate consent preferences, ad-pacing records or provider-held data.
- All app-local data: Use Android's app settings to clear the game's storage, or uninstall it. Exact menu names vary. This can permanently remove your progress. Copies retained by a device-transfer or backup service must be managed separately through that service.
- Advertising data: Resetting the game or uninstalling it does not delete records already received by Google or its partners. Their retention practices and deletion controls are described in their privacy information.
- Support messages: We retain correspondence only for as long as needed to resolve the request, maintain necessary support records or meet legal obligations, then delete it when no longer needed. You can request deletion by email, subject to applicable exceptions.
There is no game account to delete in the current release. We cannot recover an erased local save from a developer-operated backup or directly delete data held independently by Google. Contact us for help with information we control; use Google's privacy tools for its records.
6. Security and international processing
Local game data uses the app's Android storage protections; the game does not promise an independently encrypted save database. Google's Mobile Ads service protects data in transit using TLS. No storage or transmission method can be guaranteed completely secure.
Google, GitHub and email-service providers may process data outside your country. Their privacy information explains their handling of international transfers and applicable safeguards. Contact us for information about developer-controlled data.
7. Privacy rights and requests
Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of your personal information, restrict or object to processing, withdraw consent, or complain to a data-protection authority. Some US state laws also provide rights to opt out of targeted advertising or certain sales or sharing of personal information. Use the available ad privacy controls above and contact us to exercise rights over information we control.
Email dheeraj@mounts.in with your request. We may ask for information reasonably needed to verify and process it. We respond within the period required by applicable law and do not penalize you for exercising your privacy rights. Withdrawing consent does not change the lawfulness of processing already carried out.
8. People under 16
This game is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly seek personal information from them. If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us so we can investigate and delete information within our control where required.
9. This website and external services
This website is hosted on GitHub Pages. GitHub logs visitors' IP addresses for security purposes, including when visitors are not signed in. See the GitHub Privacy Statement.
These pages do not add advertising, analytics scripts, tracking pixels or registration forms. Opening an external link takes you to a service governed by its own privacy information.
10. Changes to this policy
We update this notice when our practices change and show the revision date above. Material changes will be brought to your attention as required by law, and new consent will be requested where needed. Any future connected account or cloud service will require updated disclosures before it is offered.
